MANNERS DO MATTER…And
So Do You! was formed in January, 2001 on the East
Coast. My clients shared my vision, understanding the need
to prepare for life in a global society. No longer can we
expect to live our entire lives in the same “village.”
We are all moving at such a fast pace world that basic good
manners often fall through the cracks, so to speak.
Many of us had the opportunity to learn traditional social
etiquette at the knees of our Mom or the beloved “Aunt
Bootsie”, but sometimes, because of the hectic pace
of life today, much has been forgotten, and many people are
missing out on that important aspect of their educations.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I graduated from Memorial
High School in 1970 and received a Bachelor’s Degree
in Fine Arts in 1974. I studied art and design in Perusia,
Italy, and attended a fashion and finishing school, Tobe Coburn
School, in New York City. I Continued my studies in art and
interior design at The School of Visual Arts, also in New
York City.
After completing my education I had the opportunity to work
for Neiman Marcus. I traveled to many different countries.
It was during that time that I realized the importance of
knowing “the right thing to do!”
MANNERS DO MATTER…And So
Do You! Has one important goal: to enable my clients
to feel comfortable and confident in any social or business
setting. I believe my background uniquely qualifies me to
help my clients accomplish this.
My teaching approach differs from other companies in this
industry. Although the knowledge of table manners is extremely
important and is included in my program, there are many other
facets to becoming a well-rounded individual. This includes
communication skills, social and business dress protocol,
and the importance of art, music, dance and theatre in our
society.
My colleagues and I look forward to meeting you and sharing
our knowledge in the art of etiquette. Thank you in advance
for the opportunity to make a difference in your life.
Remember to stop and smell the roses,
Karen Broussard Marlow
